If you’re experiencing an eye emergency, follow these tips:

For exposure to chemicals, flush the eye with cool, clean water for at least 15 minutes. Contact a medical professional immediately.

For blunt trauma to the eye, place a cold compress over the area and call a medical professional immediately.

For punctures, tears, rips, or scratches to the eye or eyelid, please don’t touch the area or add pressure. Instead, try to cover the area with an eye shield. Contact a medical professional immediately.
